Cruise Booking – main
Context

Luxury travel agents relied on a patchwork of legacy tools to quote, book, invoice, and manage clients. Core tasks, like cruise bookings, were time-consuming and error-prone, limiting how many clients agents could serve and how quickly they could get paid.

The opportunity was to rethink the traditional travel agency model by creating “a travel agency in a box”: one platform connecting financial systems, marketing, content, quoting, booking, and client management.

My Role

Led product design and research from concept to MVP launch. Started as a solo designer, later managing a visual designer, and worked closely with front-end and back-end developers, the product owner, and the CEO.

Design Work
  • Cruise Booking MVP: Designed an intuitive, niche-market cruise booking application for busy agents
  • Legacy System Integration: Connected modern workflows to complex, existing information systems
  • End-to-End Agent Experience: Enabled fast fare discovery, client-ready quotes, booking, invoicing, and payment
  • Experience Foundations: Defined personas, journeys, application maps, and experience guidelines
  • Prototyping & Delivery: Built interactive Axure prototypes and UX/UI style guides to support development
Impact
  • Shifted agents from fragmented tools and manual workarounds to a cohesive, end-to-end booking and business workflow
  • Improved speed and confidence in quoting, booking, and invoicing—supporting agents in earning more commission with less friction
  • Established a scalable experience foundation and informed future product expansion
What Changed

From fragmented tools and manual workarounds → a cohesive booking and business platform that supported agents’ full workflow.

The tool launched with live training for 350 agents. Agent feedback was highly positive, and the booking experience became the foundation for future expansion, including air booking in the following year.
